Please Note that both below and on the right hand side you will find accordions. To open and close them, just click on the headings of anyone of the accordion toggles. The accordion below shows you examples of a garage sale, the form fields you need to fill out, the garage sale search card and the search page where the search card displays. To the right you will find a single toggle accordion that gives you description of what each form field is for and used in conjunction with the toggle below labeled “Garage Sale Form Fields.”
Getting Started
Please use the corresponding accordion on the left hand side with the one below to learn how to edit a Garage Sale.
After coming to the edit page, you will see your garage see the garage sale you have posted below. On that page you will see an edit button and a delete button. If your garage sale has expired we will delete it within 24 hours after its expiration date.
1. Back To My Dashboard – After making edits to your garage sale or to discard edit before saving your garage sale, click on the button labeled, “Back To My Dashboard.”
2. Address – This is the address for people to view to let them know where your address is located. This also helps when people are doing searches in the different areas areas in Edmonton.
3. Search Card Header Image – This is the other location your search card header image displays in.
4. Edit Garage Sale Button – Click on this button to make the desired edits you would like to make to your garage sale. After clicking on this button, you will see the form fields pop up in a light box. Here you can make the edits you need after doing so, all you have to do is scroll down until you read the update button
5. Delete Button – To delete your garage sale click the delete button. This will permanently remove you garage sale. Please be sure this is what you want to do. Once deleted, we can’t get it back. Please note, we delete all garage sales 24 hours after they have expired.
6. Back To My Dashboard – Here is the second button you can click to be taken back to your dashboard
7. Help bar – Here is where you will find the help bar. where you will find a help video and the help page which you clicked on to get to this page. consider watching the video if you haven’t watched it already.
As with the creation of your garage sale, making edits to it is quite simple. In your dashboards please click on the placard labeled “Edit A Garage Sale” After clicking on that you will see your garage sale. Click on the Edit button and a modal window will pop up. The fields are identical to when you created your Garage sale. Make the appropriate changes and scroll down to the bottom of the form and click on the Update Button. To delete your garage sale, when you first go to the edit page you will have to buttons to choose from for your garage sale. Click on the button to the right on your garage sale labeled “Delete This Garage Sale” All garage sales are removed after they are expired.
1. Address – Please put the address of where you’re holding your garage sale here. This will set at the top of your garage sale. To see an example of this, please click on the toggle to the left labeled “Garage Sale Example.”
2. Featured image – Please select a hero image for your garage sale. This Will sit just below the address of your garage sale. The dimensions of your header image are 1920px x 800px. to see what this looks like, please click on the accordion toggle to the left labeled “Garage Sale Example.”
3. Go Back To My Dashboard – to go back to your dashboard, Click on this button or the one at the bottom of the page after you’ve created your garage sale.
4. Search Card Header Image – This is the image that sits at the top of your search card which is on the garage sale search page. To see an example of both of these please click on the toggles to the left labeled “Garage Sale Search Card Example” and “Garage Sale Search Page Example.”
5. Gallery Images – Please select a minimum of 8 images and a maximum of 30 images of items you will be selling at your garage sale. The image dimensions allow for a wide range of dimensions. the image dimensions you can upload are a minimum width of 300px and a maximum of 3,000px wide and a minimum height of 300px to maximum height of 3,000px. Please also take the time to compress your image sizes. This will make your images load faster when people are viewing them with no loss in image quality. This can be done for free through a website called tinypng. When you are ready to upload your images, you can Click Here to compress them. There are also links on the garages sale creation page that will take you to pages where you can crop and compress your images for free.
6. Details – Please enter some details here about your garage sale. You might want to include items you believe will draw more people to your garage sale and if your selling or giving away refreshments, you might want to also add that in your description along with anything else you believe will help entice people to come to your garage sale.
7. Excerpt – In fifty characters or less, put a brief expert of your garage sale here. You could, if you like, grab a sentence or two from your details and paste it into this field. No need to count out fifty characters for it will automatically stop if you’re typing in your expert the characters will automatically end at fifty characters if your pasting it in.
8. Dates and Time – Here you can enter up to three dates. If you are running a garage sale for more than one day, you have the option to add two more days for things like maybe running your garage sale on a long weekend or maybe you have a lot of items that you want to sell, and you don’t believe you can sell it all in one day. Either way, the option is there for you. For all of the days you are running your garage sale, you will have to enter the date, start time and end time.
9. Edmonton and Area Garage Sale Map – Please enter your address here. This will display on the search map on the Garage Sale Search Page and also on your Garage Sale. To see what this looks like, please click on the accordions labeled “Garage Sale Example” and “Garage Sale Search Page Example.”
10. Garage Sale Area – Please select the area that your garage sale is taking place. To more clearly know the different areas that you can choose from, please click on the button labeled “Edmonton & Area Map.” Here you will be able to easily locate where you are holding your garage sale based upon the boundaries of each area. If you garage sale is being held in Edmonton, Please select both Edmonton and the sub area like Edmonton Central, Edmonton North and so on. When people are doing a garage sale search, they will be able to select an area where garage sales are being held.
11. Edmonton and Area Map – This is an image of the Edmonton and Ara map. This is here for you to know where you garage sale is located. Please use this visual to help you select the Area your garage sale is located.
12. Create Garage Sale – After filling in all of the necessary fields, All you have to do is click on the “Create Garage Sale” button and your garage sale will be created. All Garage Sales must be taken down after they have expired.
