My Story

Hi, I’m Sarah Chen.

Thank you for taking a few moments to learn a little about me.

I’ve been helping people arrange mortgages for the past 16 years, and I can honestly say I still enjoy what I do just as much today as when I first started.

Shortly after graduating from college at 22, I began my career as a mortgage broker. I knew I wanted to work in a profession where I could help people make one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives. Buying a home isn’t just another purchase—it’s where families grow, memories are made, and futures are built. Being trusted to play even a small part in that journey has always been something I’ve appreciated.

Like most people starting out in a new career, I had a lot to learn. I spent my first several years working with different mortgage companies, gaining experience with first-time homebuyers, growing families, investors, self-employed clients, and homeowners looking to refinance or renew their mortgages. Every client taught me something new, and every challenge helped me become a better mortgage broker.

About ten years ago, I found my home with Best Mortgages, and it turned out to be exactly the kind of company I had been looking for. Their focus on honesty, putting clients first, and building long-term relationships matched the way I wanted to do business.

Over the years, I’ve seen interest rates rise and fall, lending rules change, and markets shift in ways that kept everyone on their toes. Those changes taught me that no two clients are alike, and there isn’t a “one-size-fits-all” mortgage solution. Every family has different goals, different financial circumstances, and different dreams for the future. My job is to listen first, understand what’s important to you, and then help you find the mortgage that makes the most sense for your situation.

One of the most meaningful times in my life came when my husband and I were expecting our first child. I continued working for as long as it was practical because I genuinely enjoyed helping my clients and supporting my coworkers. When it was time to step away, my husband encouraged me to focus on my health and our growing family while he picked up more of the financial responsibilities at home.

After our daughter was born, I took a few extra months to enjoy every moment with her before returning to work part time. It wasn’t long before I was back full time, but becoming a mom changed the way I look at my work. Home means something even more special to me now because I understand firsthand just how important it is to have a place where your family feels safe, comfortable, and happy.

When you work with me, my goal isn’t simply to help you qualify for a mortgage. It’s to help you make a decision you’ll still feel good about years from now.

I believe in taking the time to explain your options in plain language, answering every question you have, and making sure you feel comfortable throughout the entire process. I know that mortgages can seem overwhelming, especially if you’re buying your first home, and I never want my clients to feel rushed or pressured.

One of the greatest compliments I receive is when past clients come back to me years later, or when they send their friends and family my way. Those relationships mean far more to me than any sales number ever could.

Whether you’re purchasing your first home, upgrading to a larger one, investing in real estate, refinancing your current mortgage, or simply exploring your options, I’d be honoured to help guide you through the process.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you take the next step toward your homeownership goals.

I also have one suggestion that I think would make this even stronger for Home to Castle.

Since these profiles are meant to convert visitors into leads, I would end every profile with a short personal invitation instead of a generic sign-off. Something like:

I’d love the opportunity to earn your trust and help you find the mortgage that’s right for you. Whenever you’re ready, I’d be happy to answer your questions and help you take the next step with confidence.

It’s warm, professional, and encourages someone to reach out without feeling like they’re being sold to.
